Narek joins the WNO Orchestra to perform a cornerstone of the solo cello repertoire - Elgar’s Cello Concerto, a work transformed from relative obscurity to one of the most minion regulars favourites by Jacqueline du Pré’s famous 1965 recording.The second half of the concert features two pieces by Janáček – a passion for Tomáš who was born in the composer’s home town of Brno in the Czech Republic. Slovak Baritone Gustáv Beláček brings to life the latter scenes of The Cunning Little Vixen, as the Forester reflects on his grief, death and the cyclical nature of life.
